Stepper Motor Power Calculation
Some customers in the purchase of stepper motor, often ask the output power of the stepper motor, today we on the output power of the stepper motor, do some introduction.
As a power element, the stepper motor has a wide speed, and customers can control the running speed and start and stop position of the motor according to their actual needs. Under normal circumstances, the output torque of the stepper motor will decrease with the increase of the motor speed. In addition, when the motor is running, the set drive voltage value and control current value are different, and the output torque of the motor will also change. It can be seen from the above characteristics that the output torque of the stepper motor will change with the change of the operating state of the motor. Since the output power of the motor is proportional to the output torque of the motor, it is known that the power of the stepper motor will also change with the change of the operating state of the motor.
In the case of determining the running state of the stepper motor, we can estimate the output power of the stepper motor in its current state by the following formula:
P = 2 PI N / 60 omega
Where: P is power, unit: watt (W);
ω is the speed per minute, the unit is revolution/minute (rpm);
N is the output torque in this state, in Newton · m (N.m).
In most cases, the stepper motor will involve multiple speed segments during use, and the acceleration and deceleration process of the motor is controlled by software programs. In this process, the output torque of the motor is dynamically changed, and its output power is also a dynamic change. Therefore, in the selection stage of the stepper motor, we will not calibrate its output power, but specify the torque that the motor can provide under certain driving conditions.
